We love Inspiring the Future

On a beautiful sunny Friday morning, our MD Debbie Hales, along with other volunteers and members of the Education and Employers team visited Greenacre Academy for a Career Footsteps event.

Speaking after the event, Debbie said she had signed up to support these events as she truly believes that they give great insight into the vast choices of employment avenues.  She confesses that she did not know what she wanted to do when she left school and tried many different types of jobs before finding that working in the construction industry was for her.

Speaking of her employment history, she said "Who would have thought that running a crane hire desk could be so rewarding but making sure that everything was organised and where it should be, apparently was for me.  It still is now and I really enjoy helping to solve any asbestos related issue and plan a way forward to ensure compliant resolution with our clients."

"The event on Friday was very insightful for me too, I was extremely impressed with the boys' enthusiasm, despite the hall being rather hot as it was a beautiful day and we were stuck inside.  They were rather relieved when I said they could take their blazers off.

Their questions were varied and when I presented them with questions, I was pleasantly surprised with how insightful their answers were.  I posed a scenario to them and was actually presented with a response that I had never considered before, so I learned something too."

The more people that sign up to get involved the better, so for more information regarding the event click here and for information on how to get involved click here
